Application Requirements [6] | - Letter of intent from PO to enter into a CBFMA
- Certificate of PO Registration (SEC, CDA)
- List of officers and members of the PO with respective addresses
- PO Resolution authorizing any of the officers of the PO to file the application for CBFMA
- Certification of Precondition from the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples
- Endorsement from the Local Government Unit (LGU)
- Delineated/ GIS-generated map of the area subject of application*

Incentives and Privileges [1,4,5,6] | - Occupy, develop, protect, manage and utilize forest lands and its resources
- Claim ownership of introduced improvements
- Allocate to members and regulate the rights to use and sustainably manage forest lands resources
- Exemption from paying land rental use and administrative fees (i.e. application fee, license/permit fee, service fee, oath fee, appeal fee and authentication fee)
- Be informed and consulted on all government projects to be implemented in the area
- Preferential access from the DENR to all available assistance in the development and implementation of plans; and
- Enter into agreements or contracts for the development of the whole or portions of the tenured area and/or economic activities therein.

Tenure Holder Responsibilities [6] | - protection, rehabilitation and conservation of forestlands and resources within its designated area and shall assist the government in the protection of adjacent forest lands
- Lead in the boundary delineation and designate areas according to their sustainable use, taking into account national laws, rules and regulations, and local/native customs, traditions and practices;
- Prepare and implement the Community Resource Management Framework and Five-Year Work Plan;
- Develop and implement policies on rights and responsibilities of PO members, equitable benefit-sharing arrangements among its members, and mechanisms for addressing conflicts including sanctions;
- Be accountable for any violation of its subcontractor; and
- Pay forest charges for forest products, except timber, harvested from natural forests.

Prohibited Activities [2,6] | - Cutting of trees along gullies, steep slopes, river channels and other identified critical areas
- Cutting of naturally growing trees
- Cutting of mangroves for coastal areas
